"Creativity is a matter of illusion. We take raw
materials (ink, paper, memory, perspective)
and fashion something that, no matter how faithful to our experience, is a
contrivance, an invention, an elaborate
shadow play. That's the
miracle - that we can believe it at
all, that these tools, imperfect as they are, can stir us into
trusting something that is, on the most basic
level, not actually there." - David L. Ulin
question of free will
"The sciences have grown steadily bolder in their claim that
all human behavior can be explained through the clockwork laws of cause and
effect. This shift in perception is the continuation of an intellectual
revolution that began about 150 years ago, when Charles Darwin first published
On the Origin of Species. Shortly after Darwin put forth his theory of
evolution, his cousin Sir Francis Galton began to draw out the implications: If
we have evolved, then mental faculties like intelligence must be hereditary.
But we use those faculties-which some people have to a greater degree than
others-to make decisions. So our ability to choose our fate is not free, but
depends on our biological inheritance." - Stephen Cave
reveals causal chains that remain largely invisible to standard cognition it
has become more and more apparent that our lives are ruled largely in way that
our decisions have very little effect on. Perhaps this explains the futile
attempts to control nature and living processes that mankind has embarked upon.
As we dissect the brain and the conscious thought patterns
that inform consciousness we begin to see that we have a lot less control
over our own lives than we tend to give ourselves credit for. This makes sense
as the realization of our actual place in reality scares us half to death and
we tend to hide that realization behind a
Veil of Cognitive
Understanding that so many of our reactions are simply
scripts that we play and replay over and over again frightens us to the core of
our being and makes us feel controlled from without
like a puppet on a string being
manipulated by the puppet
This is where the concept of fate originated.
something is just not right in that we know for a fact that we make decisions
that are both, at times, irrational and unscripted. We can't have it both ways
- either we have free will or we
Let us digress. If we actually do have
free will why is it that we feel driven by
a puppet master?
Just as we build macros in software to complete onerous tasks we do the
same thing in our own minds. There are too many functions in living to stay
consciously aware of all those functions as we move through life every day from
morning to night. To give us a chance to think on weightier subjects we file
those scripts away in deep dark recesses in the corners of our minds. We take
many of these cognitive functions, ones we have ritually repeated, and we move
them from conscious awareness into the twilight of the subconscious allowing
those scripts to run on autopilot. It is only when our reality is upended that
we, once again, become aware of the scripts we have subconsciously sublimated.
Interesting you say but what does this have to do with
free will ?
We know we run macros
but we also know that we make unscripted irrational decisions. IF we were
destined by fate how could we go against the bonds that bind us, think outside
the box and make unscripted irrational decisions?
How is thinking
outside the box even possible ?
For that matter how is it even possible
to make a decision to choose between two possibilities ?
Has the script
made the decision for us or did we make the decision ?
We made the
decision. That is what consciousness is about.
Choices. Moving here. Moving there.
We can frame it that we did not
make a decision by saying that an aroma attracted us and claim that the aroma
was the puppet master. Does
an aroma acting as puppet
master make logical sense?
We need to go even deeper into
the realm of the subconscious !
cognition is just a bundle of nerves with electrical impulses streaming along
them. How does this bundle of nerves make a choice?
science, at this time, we have bytes - streams of zeros and ones - that act as
a code that tells a gate to be either open or closed, on or off. Computers run
lines of software code which are termed 'scripts' in computer science. When
they run those scripts they open and close gates that correlate the input
information into a designed format that is readable- and actionable. But the
scripts don't make decisions ! They were already previously coded. If we lived
by fate alone then we would never be able to modify the input script !
As we travel through life every day
we run scripts but no script can be run in its entirety without modification as
environmental conditions cannot be the same. The script must remain flexible
enough to take advantage of changing environmental conditions - like the sun
going down at night, a winter storm approaching on a cold front or standing
around a camp fire on open ground with variable wind
"No man ever
steps in the same river twice." -
Heraclitus of Ephesus
Heraclitus of Ephesus characterized all
existing entities as pairs of contrary properties, whereby no entity may ever
occupy a single state at a single time. This is completely in alignment with
current understanding of quantum mechanics and quantum superposition.
It is quantum mechanics that show us how we have free will and escape the
paradigm of a sealed fate !
mechanics does not explain the possibly of making a choice as all things are
The spin of an electron has two possible configurations, up
or down. If we align those configurations we have an electron flow or an
electric current. Nerves function as conductors of electrical currents. When we
make a decision we modify the flow of the electric current. Before a choice has
been made the particle that carries the data informed by choice remains in a
indeterminate quantum state. To choose - to make a choice means to flip the up,
or down, spin on the electron and create a current !
The only way we can do this is by reaching into the void and
pulling out the quantum superposition that keeps our feet firmly planted on the
path of The Way !

This website defines a
new perspective with which to engage reality to which its author adheres. The
author feels that the falsification of reality outside personal experience has
created a populace unable to discern propaganda from reality and that this has
been done purposefully by an international corporate cartel through their
agents who wish to foist a corrupt version of reality on the human race.
Religious intolerance occurs when any group refuses to tolerate religious
practices, religious beliefs or persons due to their religious ideology. This
web site marks the founding of a system of philosophy named The Truth of the
Way of Life - a rational religion based on reason which requires no leap of
faith, accepts no tithes, has no supreme leader, no church buildings and in
which each and every individual is encouraged to develop a personal relation
with the Creator and Sustainer through the pursuit of the knowledge of reality
in the hope of curing the spiritual corruption that has enveloped the human
spirit. The tenets of The Truth of the Way of Life are spelled out in detail on
this web site by the author. Violent acts against individuals due to their
religious beliefs in America is considered a "hate crime."
This web site
in no way condones violence. To the contrary the intent here is to reduce the
violence that is already occurring due to the international corporate cartels
desire to control the human race. The international corporate cartel already
controls the world economic system, corporate media worldwide, the global
industrial military entertainment complex and is responsible for the collapse
of morals, the elevation of self-centered behavior and the destruction of
global ecosystems. Civilization is based on cooperation. Cooperation does not
occur at the point of a gun.
American social mores and values have
declined precipitously over the last century as the corrupt international
cartel has garnered more and more power. This power rests in the ability to
deceive the populace in general through corporate media by pressing emotional
buttons which have been preprogrammed into the population through prior mass
media psychological operations. The results have been the destruction of the
family and the destruction of social structures that do not adhere to the
corrupt international elites vision of a perfect
world. Through distraction and coercion the direction of thought of the
bulk of the population has been directed toward solutions proposed by the
corrupt international elite that further consolidates their power and which
further their purposes.
