										Bhagiratha, legendary king
of the Ikshvaku dynasty, brought the
										  Ganges river to Earth from
										  the Heavens.
Ganga warned him if she descended from the Sky to the
Earth, the force of her fall would be
										  difficult to contain.

Ganga required penance for a thousand years
to obtain favor from the sable blue throated god, Shiva.
Shiva granted the boon, which led to
descent of the goddess Ganga in
the form of the river Ganges, to the earth, filling the sea, drunk up by
										  Jahnu.
For his efforts, the head stream of the Ganga is called
Bhagirathi, till it meets Alaknanda River at Devprayag. |

Dharma models the "higher truth" or
								ultimate reality.
  'Dharma'
								literally translates as 'that which
upholds or supports'; generally translated into
								English as 'law'.

  Dharma is the
								Eastern version of Gnosticism.

  Dharma, Gnosticism, is
								knowing reality with certainty.

  Adherence to dharma means living
								within the natural moral order
								which reveals a path of
proper social conduct upheld by the
natural laws of the universe set
in place and sustained by Shiva,
								Creator and Destroyer.

								   Dharma
shares much in common with Taoism.

  The various Indian religions (Hinduism,
								Buddhism,
								Jainism,
								Sikhism) have accorded dharma a
								central focus.
  Each
thought system emphasizes dharma in teachings.
  Living in accordance
								with dharma hastens progression toward
								Dharma Yukam, Moksha or
								Nirvana.
  Dharma may refer to
								doctrines of the
								founders, such as those of
								Siddhartha Gautama
								and Mahāvīra.
In traditional Hindu society with its caste
structure, dharma constituted the religious and
moral doctrine of the rights and duties of
								each individual.
Antonym of dharma is adharma -
								unnatural or
								immoral.

In the very beginning human beings were
gods but they so abused their divinity
								that Brahma, the Supreme God,
decided to take it away from them and
								hide their divinity
								where it could never be
								found for their own good.
Where to hide their divinity is the
								question ?
  Brahma calls a
								council of gods to
								help him decide.
"Let's bury it deep in the earth," said the gods.

Brahma answers, "No, humans will dig into the earth."

The gods suggest, "Let's sink it in
								the deepest ocean."
  Brahma replies, "No,
								they will learn deep sea
								diving."
The gods say, "Hide it on the highest mountain
								peak."
  Brahma responded, "No, they will
								eventually climb every mountain and
								once again take up their
								divinity."
The gods quit, "We do not know where to hide it!"

Brahma thought for a time, "Here is what we will do:
We will hide their divinity deep in the
center of their own being, for
								humans will never think to
								look for it there."
  The gods agreed
this was the perfect hiding place.

Since that time humans have been scrambling all over earth, digging,
diving, climbing, and exploring - searching for something already within
								themselves.

  Consciousness is the
								Nature of Brahma.
  "Brahma"
								is:
  Satyam - "the
								noumenon; but not
								the empirical
								one"
Jñãnam - "knowledge not split into subject and
								object"
  Anantam - "boundless or
								infinite"
  Everything else, is
								a physical manifestation
								- māyā.

Brahma is free from any kind of
								differentiation.
Brahma does not have any sajatiya (homogeneous)
differentiation because there is no second Brahma.
  Brahma does not have
								any vijatiya (heterogeneous)
								differentiation as
there is only Brahma in the noumenon.
Brahma does not have any svagata
(internal) differences, because Brahma is itself homogeneous.
  Brahma is
indescribable - neti neti, "not this, not that" as
								Brahma cannot be properly
								described as this or that.

"Go beyond the stream, Brahma, go with
								all your soul.
  Cross the stream
of Samsara, you will reach Nirvana.
  Beyond
								meditation and
								contemplation a
								Brahma has reached the other
shore he attains the Supreme Vision.
By day the sun shines, and
								by night shines the moon.

  Buddha shines by
								day and by night.
  In
the brightness of his glory shines the man awake.
He who is free from the bondage of
men and also from the bondage of the
gods: who is free from all
things in creation - her I call a
								Brahma.
She who knows the river of her past lives and
is free from life that ends
in death, who knows the joys of
heaven and the sorrows of hell,
for he is a seer whose vision is
								pure - he I call a
								Brahma." - Dhammapada |
