Organic desire is natural.
Inorganic desire is unnatural.
Indefinite things detract from comfort.
To survive in
a world full of lions, tigers and
bears children had to be taught
to protect themselves.
This means
following the instincts that
come to naturally to each of us in the
form of emotion.
A mind set
of self-protection often gives rise to
narcissistic
behavior.
This
creates a conundrum.
How
does the tribe survive if each individual is looking out only for self ?
The answer is - it
doesn't.
All members of the
tribe are required to go through
an initiation process when
they near puberty in which they are
introduced to the god protector of
the tribe through a mystical experience.
The method used to
modify the thought processes of
an adolescence tribe member to
bring them into the fold of the
tribe has always been shock and
awe through a gruelling
initiation process.
This revised
thought processes in a
manner which replaced self-focus
with a tribal family focus or institutional
focus.
With the replacement of most
traditional modes of tribal
living with MICE culture
most people remain in an infantile
state of self-focus playing chutes and ladders
their entire life.
Infantile self-focus looks
for something, anything novel,
to amuse
itself.
Moral and ethical truths have revealed
themselves throughout the course of human history and men and women of
integrity have recorded them.
Initially these recordings were
conveyed to the next
generation through the Oral
Tradition but everything changed when
Alexander III of Macedonia
conquered the 'known'
world.
Before the synthesis of
the various mythological thought models the diverse cultures all used
proverbs which were simply
recordings of the speech of the Oral
Tradition.
Examples are seen in the
Words of Jesus in the Gospel of
Thomas and in the words of Lao
Tze, Confucius and
Siddhartha
Gautama.
The Hebrews
in Alexandria borrowed the
narrative myth style of the Greeks and used it to create
a realistic narrative history of
the Hebrews.
Then came
synthesis through
exegesis of mythological thought in the
West until that was put to an end by
Catholic Roman Emperor
Theodosius I in hopes of creating a
conforming unified social culture but truly all that ended was the
Hellenistic Age of Reason,
replaced by the Dark Ages.
Along the way viable initiation process' were
abandoned simply due to the fact that the tribal body had grown too large and
were replaced with largely hollow
rituals like Bar Mitzvah or Catholic Confirmation.
Hollow rituals do not change focus from
self to tribe like boot camp does.
