  1326 Meister Eckhart of
Hochheim is severely attacked for the
								mystical concepts expressed in his
								sermons.
  This
was far worse for humanity than the condemnation of Galileo Galilei.

An inquisitorial process is ordered which finds 150 heresies.
  In
Avignon, Pope John XXII sets up two
tribunals to inquire into the case, one of theologians and the other of
								cardinals.
  The commissions reduced the 150 suspect articles down to 28;
the document known as the Votum Avenionense gives, in scholastic
fashion, the twenty-eight articles, Eckhart's defense of each, and the rebuttal
								of the commissioners.
  Shortly after Eckhart dies Pope
John XXII issues a bull (In
agro dominico), 27 March 1329, in which a series of statements from Eckhart is
								characterized as heretical.
"We tried to have the censure lifted on
Eckhart and were told that there was really no need since he had never been
condemned by name, just some propositions which he was supposed to have held,
and so we are perfectly free to say that he is a good and orthodox theologian."
								- Timothy Radcliffe, Master of the Dominicans
  "Only 28 propositions were
censured, but they were taken out
of their context and impossible to verify, since
there were no manuscripts in Avignon." - Winfried Trusen of
								Würzburg
  In Meister Eckhart we find
								religion expressed in its purest
								form, a form
which goes back in its spiritual experience to
								mystical roots
								in Gnosticism.
  The Roman
Catholic could have compared Meister Eckhart
theology with the writings of the early
								church fathers, especially the Alexandrian
								fathers.
Unfortunately some of Alexandrian fathers were branded
								heretics during certain periods by
the Roman Catholic church as well.
  Meister Eckhart taught
								communion with
								God.
  Meister
Eckhart mysticism is a threat to the very survival of the Catholic.

Meister Eckhart alienated the believer from the
								Hierarchy of the
								Church.
  Redemption is now no
								longer dependent on church
membership and rituals, but on the desire to enter a close relationship
								with the Creator.
  Without the need of
intercessors their is need of the
								Roman Catholic church.
  Meister Eckhart never
attacked the hierarchy of the Roman Catholic church, unlike Athbhreith
								Athbheochan, the Kwisatz Haderach Druid.
  Eckhart, in tune with
								the teachings of Jesus
								and the ancient wisdom of
								Jesus obliterated
through the centuries wanted mankind to
								discover God
								within.
  "In the beginning
								the mystical aspirant
will feel pain when he attempts to
tear himself away from the world of physical desire.
At the end of the mystical
path he becomes like a rock unshaken by the raging blasts of the stormy
								ocean.
   After
surrendering ego to God we attain
								fusion with the Kingdom
of Heaven." - Meister Eckhart von Hochheim

John Wycliffe Morning Star of the
									 Reformation John Wycliffe(Wyclif, Wycliff,
Wiclef, Wicliffe, Wickliffe) was no friend of the Catholic hierarchy,
								calling into question papal
								infallibility and declaring that
a worldly pope was a heretic and
								should be removed.
Contrary to accepted doctrine, John Wyclif taught
								that the true church was
								"invisible," made up of only
the elect of God and that no visible church or its officers can control
								entrance or exclude membership.
John Wycliffe taught that salvation did
not depend on connection with the visible church or the priesthood, but on a
								direct relationship to God.
John Wycliffe taught that priests and
bishops should be held in esteem, not because of their position, only if their
								character presented a moral model.
  John Wycliffe repudiated the common
								practices of selling
indulgences, holding masses for the dead and every manner of church
								prostitution.
John Wycliffe felt that all Christians should to be able
								to read the Bible.
John Wycliffe is the first person to complete
								translation of into English.
The Catholic Church despised and hated John
								Wycliffe.
  1415
  Council of
Constance condemns John Wycliffe, orders his writings to be burned, his bones to be exhumed
and cast out of the consecrated ground.
  1428
Under papal command, John Wycliffe remains are dug up,
								burned, the ashes were thrown
in a nearby stream killing the trout!
  Note
Zaddikim beleive in the physical ressurection of
								the original soul
								vehicle/material body and
therefore have a taboo against grave
								dissecretion.
Dead body must remain intact in the grave to be
								ressurected; a taboo of the
								entombed Eygptians
waiting for the star gate to Orion to open.

								"In
								  the true nature of
								  things every green tree is
far more glorious than if it were made of gold and silver." Martin Luther was the first to popularize theological works for the
								laity.
  Luther translated the Bible into
								the language of the people.

Luther mastered the art of writing in the vernacular of his day and a
style of shortform writing that exploded his popularity.
  Martin Luther
quickly saw the advantages of making his vernacular treatises available cheaply
to a growing body of avid lay followers.
  Luther's desire to expose the
laity to his translation of the Bible and his message in other formats
motivated his advocacy of universal childhood literacy.
  His rebellion
against the Catholic Church made him a celebrity, and it stimulated the
								publishing industry.
The success of Protestantism over all owed much to
								print.
  Catholic adversaries never fully
								exploited the printing
								press.
The Bible Luther produced introduced mass media, unifies a
nation, and sets the standard for future translations.
  Without the
printing press and Hans Lufft he
								could not have done it.

  1517
Martin Luther nails ninety-five theses to the Cathedral door condemning the
Thirty Years' War giving rise the the Refomation and the Protestant
								Church.
1520 Pope Leo X issued the Papal bull
Exsurge Domine ("Arise, O Lord"), outlining forty-one errors found in
								Martin Luther's ninety-five theses.
  1521 Emperor
Charles V calls the Diet of Worms.
  Edict of Worms decree
issued on 25 May 1521 by Emperor Charles V, declares:
  "We forbid anyone
from this time forward to dare, either by words or by deeds, to receive,
defend, sustain, or favor Martin Luther. On the contrary, we want him to be
apprehended and punished as a notorious heretic."
  The Edict,
declaring Luther to be an obstinate heretic, banned the reading or possession
								of his writings.
Following the Edict of Worms Frederick the Wise
								has Luther kidnapped and
hidden away for safekeeping in the
								castle at Wartburg.
Luther, a Gnostic, translated the Textus
Receptus of Erasmus in eleven weeks.
  1522
Das Newe Testament Deutzsch is published.
1534 Hans Lufft prints Die Propheten Alle Deudsch in
								Wittenberg.
Lufft prints more than 100,000 copies in the following 40
								years.

"The Roman Catholic have, with great adroitness, drawn three
								walls round themselves.
Firstly, if pressed by the temporal power, they
have affirmed and maintained that the temporal power has no jurisdiction over
them, but, on the contrary, that the spiritual power is above the temporal.

Secondly, if it were proposed to admonish them with the Scriptures,
they objected that no one may interpret the Scriptures but the Pope.

Thirdly, if they are threatened with a council, they pretend that no
one may call a council but the Pope.
  Thus they
have stolen our three rods and intrenched themselves behind these three walls,
to act with all the wickedness and malice, which we now witness.
  A
little company of pious Christian laymen taken prisoners and carried away to a
desert had not among them a
								priest consecrated by a bishop.
They agree to elect one of them,
born in wedlock or not, order him to baptize,
								to celebrate the mass, to
								absolve, and to
								preach; this man would as
truly be a priest, as if all
								the bishops and all the
								popes had consecrated him.
  That is why in
								cases of necessity
every man can baptize and absolve, which would not be possible if we were not
								all priests.
  This great
								grace and virtue of
baptism and of the Christian estate they have quite destroyed and made us
								forget by their ecclesiastical
								law.
It is past bearing that the spiritual law should esteem so
								highly the liberty, life,
and property of the clergy, as if laymen were not as good spiritual Christians,
or not equally members of the Church.
  Whence comes this great
								difference among equal Christians?
  Simply from human laws and
								inventions.
  It is
								a wickedly devised fable,
without a single letter to confirm
it, for the Pope alone to interpret the Scriptures or to
								confirm the interpretation of them.

  They claim authority
								rests with St. Peter, the keys were given to him;
the keys were not given to
								St. Peter alone, but to
								the whole community.

  They must needs acknowledge that
								there are pious
Christians among us that have the true faith, spirit, understanding, word,
								and Ḉhri§t Ḉon§ḉiou§ne§§.
  That no
one must oppose? Their boasts of authority are idle
								talk!
  No one in the
Christian Church has any authority to do harm.
Nor to forbid others to prevent
								harm being done.
There is no authority in the
								Church but for reformation.
If the Pope wishes to use his power to
prevent the calling of a free council, to prevent the reformation of the
								Church, we must not respect
								him or his power.
  If he should begin to
								excommunicate, we
								must despise this as the
doings of a madman, and, trusting in God,
								excommunicate and repel
								him as best we may.
  For
his usurped power is nothing as he cannot possess it.
  Let us now
								consider the matters which
should be treated in the councils by which
								all learned men should engage
								themselves if they follow Christ.
  Let us rouse ourselves and
stand in awe of God more
								than man.
Martin Luther's Address to the Christian Nobility of
								Germany

								  Søren Kierkegaard

								 Søren
Kierkegaard asserted the best theology may be
								the most ridiculous.
  One cannot have
								true faith unless one is
								capable of transcending
								rationality.
  Believers betray religion when
they try to make rational sense of it.
  "Søren Kierkegaard
								understood that the purpose of
thinking outside the proscribed culturally conditioned limits of thought
								was necessary to propel an
individual into a greater understanding and awareness of reality.

Interesting enough this is also precisely what a
								Zen Koan,
								a succinct paradoxical
								statement or question used as
a meditation discipline, sets out to accomplish." -
								Athbhreith Athbheochan
