8 Principles of Political
Realism
Political
realism:
- understands political power is based on a rational
order.
- attempts to
avoid political framing of
thought problems.
- is
aware of the moral significance
of political action.
- differentiates
universal morality from
cultural overlays.
- understands the
pluralistic nature
of self-determination.
- recognizes
the fluid nature of
motives of stage actors.
- recognizes societial concerns are
governed by objective laws with
roots in the survival needs
of human nature.
- identifies intersects and
differentiations of
disparate
group interests from moral and legalistic
viewpoints.
"It is not the critic who
counts, not the man who points out how the strong man stumbled, or
where the doer of deeds could have
done better.
The
credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena.
Face is
marred by the dust and
sweat and
blood.
Striving valiantly,
erring and coming up short.
He exhibits great devotion
and spends himself in a worthy course
He desires in the end the
triumph of high achievement. If he fails,
at least fails while daring
greatly." -Theodore Roosevelt
Teddy warned America could easily be
destroyed by "malefactors of
great wealth" who would
subvert American
political institutions from within.'
Authority is aware of the bias
towards "self-determination.
Authority is aware that
if we believe we are in
control of our own thought processes we are
more likely to yield to the
persuasion of authority.
When
we sense coercion
we respond with resentment and
résistance so the
key to successful sale of authority requires
us to fail to see
coercion.
Social engineers hide
coercion within saturating
instruction with the self-determining words of
resentment management - "opportunity", "incentive" and "challenge" - to hide coercion by
disguising dilemma as
"choice".
This
coercion
Through distra¢tion has the tendency of turning
naturally focused
people into chronically
distracted mindless human automatons.
MICE culture regards
focused people as
a threat, they ask far too
many awkward questions -
the kind entranced slaves are not
supposed to ask.
To avoid these questions,
MICE culture distracts the
individual into a frenzy
of competitive activities requiring relatively little time for
critical
thinking.
The political
economist Thorstein Veblen
established the notion of conspicuous consumption in
the "Theory of the Leisure Class" (1899) .
Thorstein Veblen understood
the logic powering manufactured
desire.
"As we deep-sixed worn croquet mallets,
magazine back issues
and objects that no longer had
meaning in our current
lives, we began to feel lighter.
With each item given away we began
liberating ourselves from an outmoded way of
living that had been weighing us down in more ways than mere bulk.
We moved away from the idea that "we are what we have." - Ciji
Ware
The only lasting, dependable security comes from
controlling less not
more.
Loosening rigid
boundaries of self, allowing ourselves to open up to living within the
magical connection to the
natural ecosystem of our community.
Daniel Joseph Boorstin,
celebrity de-bunker,
absurdities of
materialism and the ruinous
contradictions of acquiring status through material objects, was accused of
communism by the
House Un-American Activities Committee.
"Nearly everything we do to make
life more interesting, more varied, more exciting, in the long run, has an
opposite effect." - Daniel J
Boorstin
Daniel J Boorstin writings had un-American activities in
mind - to undermine gratuitous
consumption through intellectual sabotage. "Consumer product
producers empower kids as shoppers legitimizing their uninformed tastes,
mercurial wants and detaching them
from their gatekeeper mothers, fathers, teachers and pastors." - Benjamin
R. Barber
"Delusion is subtle.
Like the lamp behind the
projector or a
reflection in a mirror, delusion shines with a soft light and illuminates
indirectly.
It changes appearances so things appear stable, satisfying,
personal, alluring.
Its optical tricks are endearingly creative, so
much so that sometimes we hardly know where the light leaves off and the
darkness begins.
Delusion leads us to revel in wielding fires of greed
and hatred, oblivious of the
harm inflicted on ourselves and on those around us." - Andrew
Olendzki
Those
with delusions of grandeur engage in a game of political
ponerology.
The game
engaged in is a rhetorical one in which the image of reality is
'spun' to seem to be an entirely
different creature than it truly is.
The purpose is to
embed the citizen victim in hyperreal strings of
fear.
Bernays was born in
Vienna, Austria, in 1891
but grew up in New York
City.
His mother was Freud's sister, Anna; his father was Ely
Bernays, the brother of Freud's wife, Martha Bernays -
Sigmund Freud's nephew twice
over.
Bernays hypothesized that by
understanding the group
mind, it would be possible to
manipulate the behavior
of people without them even realizing it.
The marriage of
psychoanalysis and
public
relations made Bernays wealthy.
Bernays was able to successfully
turn the hunter-gather
paradigm into global
consumer culture as humans, like all animals, are
hunters-gathers.
To survive we needed to
find nourishment just like every other animal.
We hunted for bodily nourishment.
We gathered grain we could not
eat.
Manufactured desire of global
consumer culture taps into the ingrained
through evolution hunter-gatherer patterns and
usurps them.
Edward
Bernays taught every 5th Avenue advertising executive
the art of the induction of insatiable
desire that requires
never ending upgrades.
"Entranced, mesmerized and
hypnotized by the manufacturers
of patent medicine the marks danced obliviously
toward clearly marked
early graves."
"Walter
Lippmann based his two keystone texts, Public Opinion (1922) and The Phantom Public (1925), largely on his wartime
experiences as chief leaflet writer and editor of a US propaganda unit with the
American Expeditionary Forces, and as secretary of The Inquiry, a
prototypical US intelligence agency organized by President Wilson to support
the US negotiating team in Paris." - Christopher Simpson, Science of
Coercion |
"When all men think alike, no one
thinks very much.
When distant and unfamiliar and complex things are
communicated to great masses of
people, the truth suffers a
considerable and often a radical distortion.
The
complex is made into the
simple, the hypothetical into the
dogmatic, and the
relative into an absolute.
Successful politicians are insecure
and intimidated men.
They advance politically only as they
placate,
appease,
bribe,
seduce,
bamboozle or
otherwise manage to manipulate threatening
elements in constituencies.
The private citizen, beset by partisan
appeals for the loan of his Public Opinion, will soon see
that these appeals are not a
compliment to his intelligence, but
an imposition on
his good nature and an
insult to his sense of evidence.
The
time has come to stop beating our heads against stone walls under the
herd immunity illusion that
we have been appointed policeman to the
human race.
There is no
arguing with the Reptilian pretenders to
a divine knowledge and to
a divine transformative
mission.
They are
possessed with the sin of intellectual pride,
they have yielded to
the transcendental temptation.
We are captives of the images in our
minds - we feel the reality we experience is the reality that exists
universally.
Best instrument
for understanding reality -
introspection.
Humanity may resemble us very
considerably - the best way of knowing our neighbors is
to know
ourselves."
Walter
Lippmann
Movies became reality in
American culture and
American
consciousness.
Eventually the overtaxed bicameral mind becomes the
source of distraction.
It skips gleefully from one disparate thought to
another mimicking the patterns
implanted by the biological orienting response to the magic
screen.
Cuts, edits,
zooms and pans stimulate the
subconscious while
making it impossible to actually fall into Theta healing sleep while watching
television.
Zombies, in the
hypnotic trance of the
alpha-theta wave border brainwave state, are available only for more
distraction with logical
rational linear thinking mired in the beta-amyloid plaque of
attention deficit disorder.
When children learn new skills - walking, running,
swimming,
flying
- they tap into a reservoir of potential concentration through
rational dissociation.
Rational
dissociation is a trick the mind
plays to allow the body to glide through the environment
overcoming obstacles without conscious
thought.
Lack of physical concern for
Body frees
Mind to
concentrate on the task.
When a skill becomes
automatic, concentration is
no longer needed.
Essential skills are habitual for adults, adults no
longer need to concentrate in order to
walk, talk,
perform like robots,
remain silent and
die politely.
The reservoir of potential
concentration is therefore freed for
other uses.
As children in the
factory conditioning of
the Prussian school system we were taught to
concentrate
on things beyond our ability to comprehend.
We became conditioned to avoid
focusing or concentrating on
logic threads as these are unpleasant tasks while
endless distraction
creates happiness.
